Have a Good Laugh Today

Today I was reading Yvonne's blog. I was cracking up at this SITE. You should go check it out.

I have to say I was very freaked out by this picture. It really looks like my mom's high school pictures. I have never thought we looked much alike. I have red hair and pale skin, and she is blonde and tan. In fact people would actually ask my parents if they adopted me when I was young. Neither of my parents have any ounce of redhead complexion. This picture proves we are related. I wish I could find one of my Mom and show you all. You would probably be as freaked out as me. I definitely have her cheek bones and face structure.

This is just for laughs. These pictures will keep me laughing all day

Go check it out for yourself.

Our Summer Trip

We had a great time with my family. It was so nice just to relax, shop, visit, and celebrate being together. One of my favorite weekends was going to the lake house. The girls were a little nervous at first, but soon they were loving it.

We stayed out on the boat for an entire day. The weather was nice, the water was like a sheet of glass, and the company... excellent.

We spent all day tubing, jumping off the boat (a fav of the girls), swimming, soaking up the sun, a little cliff jumping, and some of us water skied.

This is my child with NO fear. I am always watching her carefully. Just look at that grin. Mischievous, eh?
I love this shot of the girls watching my nephew tube. It was so funny the kids kept signaling for us to go faster.

Sloane was in heaven. She loved every minute of being lakeside. I did a little cliff jumping(sorry you won't be seeing me in a swimsuit), I was amazed that I had the strength to climb so high. Sloane was right behind me jumping off on lower cliffs. She amazes me with her athletic abilities.
We visited with all our family in town. I love going to my Grandparents farm. My Grandma always has her home decorated so lovely. We spent an afternoon with my great aunt Evie and her pup. I even hung out with my "4th sister" Jennifer. It was great seeing her family too.

Isn't my niece a cutie? We celebrated her turning eight. Her birthday is in February but she really wanted a pool party, so her Mom waited til it was warm.
My nephew is always hiding under a hat. He is a Midwest boy. At least this day he wasn't wearing the cowboy hat.

Emie turned two while we were out there. I can not believe how big she has gotten. Having three kids has been so overwhelming to me, but this little girl is such a joy. She brightens my life so much.
Two candles, I just can not believe it.

My girls, my niece and my Aunt's gorgeous porch. My Aunt Evie will be mad at me for this, but if you look in the reflection of the door you can see her. She is a pretty lady. I seriously hope I inherited my Mom's families genes. They are all so beautiful and look fabulous.
I love watching my kids interact with my Dad. He such a gentle Grandpa. The girls sure love their Papa.

Flying home. We had a blast but were ready to return home to our Hubby/Daddy. He really is a wonderful man to let us go and leave him behind for a full three weeks.
Sigh, I miss my family already.

Like a Kid at Christmas

Today the door bell rang. When I opened it there were 4 large boxes sitting on my porch from UPS. I was so giddy.
Last month I visited my family in the Midwest. It is seriously the best place to flea market. I spent most of my time with my Mom, Sisters and Grandma hitting all the flea markets/antique stores, garage sales, and boutiques to my hearts desire. I bought some great stuff and was given some great stuff. I could not fit it all on the plane ride home, so it was shipped my way.

I am normally not a rooster person, but lately I have been wanting a few. I got this little rooster for a few bucks along with a red wire basket for my marble eggs.

I also found a new piece of the pottery I collect. I used to find it everywhere, now I have to hunt it down. I was happy to find this jar/vase.

I saw this fork and spoon and had to have it. I am not really into retro, but I LOVED these. They remind me of being at my Grandma's house as a little kid.

I took a picture from a different angle, by the door, so you can see how large they are.
I love this weathered weather vain. If I ever tire of it, it will be a great Halloween decoration.
I did have a few more goodies. I bought a lot of holiday decor and of course the bikes I saw everywhere.
It was a very successful trip, mostly because I got to spend time with the ones I love.

Weekend Bargains

I have been attracted to end tables lately. I am not sure why but they have been catching my eye. I bought this table at a thrift store this weekend. I paid more for it than most things I buy used. A whopping $14. I had already started priming it, when I remembered to take a picture.

This inlay made me fall in love, and from this picture you can see it in it's original color.

I primed it in white and then decided I might like it better white than black. Nope, it will be black, but since I was not in the mood to finish it, I decided I could use it white for a week or so until the painting bug bites.

I forgot to take a picture of these babies too. They were black and gold. Sort of tacky, but I liked their shape.

Oh, and they are from one of my favorite stores.
These lovelies are my bargain for the week. I spent $3 for both. The lamp had a huge, ugly black shade that I immediately discarded. This little table looked so lonely, I had to take it home.
Here is my primed only table. Eventually I will sand it, paint it, and lacquer it, but it doesn't look bad as is.

Here is my little table after I sanded it a LOT and stained it a darker color. That little clock was a different find at Hobby Lobby 50% off. The flowers were not a good deal, but (sigh) I fell in love with them.
Here is my lamp all cleaned up. I am not sure the shade is the right fit, so I may continue to shop for another one. Regardless, I love my new lamp, it is so me.
My husband does not seem to show much interest in my bargain deals. Mostly he just rolls his eyes. It makes me so excited when I find a GREAT deal, so my good mood makes for a wonderful weekend. (For both of us!)
