Danielle's Family Bridal Shower in Utah

Danielle was thrown a family wedding shower in Utah by my Aunt Janet and cousin-in- law Trish. It was fun to see so many family members on my dad's side there. I have an uncle and his family visiting from Germany. It was great to see them for the first time in nine years. We took a big family picture because we haven't all been together in a while. Well we weren't all there, we missed you Amy and Amanda and everyone else who wasn't there.

This is a picture of just the girls. I have to point out Anna (front row holding the two girls), I am gonna call her an honorary sister. She is tall like us and all the kids just love her. Back to me, I must be squatting because I am definitely inches taller than my mom.

This is just my sisters, mom, and me. Sorry Danielle, I love this picture, it reminds me of the fence. How "electrifying." Yep she was "shocked" to find out there was electric wiring behind the fence.

So what did I learn this weekend???? I really need a new hair style. My hair is flat and winded in every picture taken all weekend. My hair is so thick and heavy that it won't hold with products. Maybe I'll just get a wig.

This is How One Person Can Gain Ten Pounds in One Week

10. Traveling in the car, it is fast food all the way.

9. Husband gives a Chiropractic seminar at a restaurant, gotta eat the awesome dish before me.

8. Family in town, gotta take advantage and go out on a date alone and eat a monster piece of cheesecake.

7. Grandma's yummy homemade gravy. Stuff that tasty needs to be smothered on everything gracing the plate.

6. Marie Calendar pies. Have to sample a few.

5. The Mandarin in Bountiful...yum yum.

4. Central Park in Roy. Buckets of fries and nuggets are an every time staple.

3. Although Manti is a very secluded city, we managed to eat out about four meals in two days.

2. Wedding reception buffet (it was awesome) and wedding cake delish!

1. Fry sauce, fry sauce, fry sauce. It is of the devil and available at every food joint in Utah. I don't even care for mayo but I never seem to turn down fry sauce.

Time Flies When Your Having Fun

This is gonna be a bad blogging week for me. By bad I mean not a whole lot of it. Sorry Mandy! My sisters Danielle and Brittany have come to visit for a few days. Then we are all headed to Manti for Corrine's wedding. It should be fun week filled with family and friends. I will make sure to post pictures later. I might still comment on a few blogs because I am crazy like that!

Birds of a Feather

We got two parakeets when Micah was only 5 months old. Don't ask me why, I don't know. I used to never been fond of birds. They are messy, messy, messy. Plus, we have always had to find someone to take care of them while we are out of town.

I finally grew to love my birds. I say "my" because I take care of them. One of our birdies past on and so we have had this one bird for over a year all by itself. I missed all the beautiful singing when the two birds were together and happy. So, we finally decided to give it friend.

Our birds never had names. Don't ask me why, I don't know. Jeremy and I decided to let the girls pick out some names for them. The first suggestion was Dora and Diego. We have enough Dora stuff in this house so I said try again. Micah liked.......

Charlie and Lola from another favorite show. I really think these are cute names so Charlie and Lola it is.

Here's Charlie. He is a little over three years old. He loves to sing and although he is not sure about sharing his home, I think soon enough they will be filling my home with beautiful music.

Here is our new baby Lola. Isn't she pretty? I really wanted a yellow bird. Yellow makes me happy. The girls loved picking her out and bringing her home to stay.

Daddy Daughters Date

Every couple weeks Jeremy has been having daddy daughters date night. The girls get to stay up past bedtime and watch a movie with daddy. We go all out with special drinks, treats and popcorn. The girls are so cute and get real excited. The movie of choice.....

Charlotte's Web.

It was very cute. We are probably the last people on earth to see it. I just don't do movie theaters anymore, not with kids. We will just have to wait until they are older.

Kids Say the Darnedest Things

Micah: "Momma!"

Me: "What Micah?"

Micah: "I am bringing sexy back."

GREAT

ME: "Sloane what do you want for breakfast?"

She thinks for a while and then with a big smile says,"CHOCOLATE!"

Me too.

My niece Ryann asked me the other day,"Aunt Ashley does your little girl know how to speak our language yet?"

Oh how their little minds work.

A Day Off!

I had to take a day off yesterday from blogging. I did read a few of my favs though, because I am addicted and all. My house needed an all day TLC makeover. I cleaned, cleaned, cleaned. I wanted to put up a post for my one daily reader Mandy.
I really enjoyed reading her tag. I will post something better later. I need to head off to the gym before I can talk myself out of going. I also have mounds of laundry I washed yesterday that need to be folded and put away. Wow I feel so productive lately.
GO ME!

Why I Love My Husband's Patients

I do like all the patients I have meet at Jeremy's office. They are always polite and sweet. They all make over our girls which makes me feel good, and the girls love the attention.
The thing I love, love, love is all the fresh produce they so freely share. They are always showering us with the sweetest and juiciest foods their wonderful gardens have to offer.

I never ate such yummy farm fresh produce in Texas.

We love having sweet corn almost every night for dinner. The fresh fruit is so delicious it becomes a wonderful dessert. I never knew we had been missing out on all this goodness nature has to offer. I have to say it is pure heaven.

Listening toThe Boss

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Today I had an evaluation with my trainer. I was nervous because I thought she would be mad about the amount of time I wasn't spending at the gym. I was wrong.
She was not happy about my levels of difficulty. Apparently I don't challenge myself enough.
WHAT??????
There are days I felt like throwing up I have pushed myself so hard.
I guess she knows what is best. I have to say I never worked out my upper body using weights and it feels awesome. Maybe now I can get rid of my sagging Relief Society arms. She upped all my levels and increased the time I spend on each piece of equipment.
Well, I see what she means cause my booty was burning when I left today. The stair stepper is definitely a good challenge for me.
Okay I hear you woman!!!!!!I am feeling the burn.

My Favorite Magazine

Any catalog or magazine that comes in the mail makes me happy. I love to find new ideas and new must have buys. My favorite mag has to be Cottage Living. It suits my taste of eccletic things that I love that can all be displayed into one complete style.......my own.
One thing that caught my eye was this breakfast nook. Restuarant style but way cuter. It is crisp, clean, and fresh. I like the colors, the lines, and even the all the light from the window. I love everything about it. It would be great to just slide the kiddos in, feed them, and wipe it down. No cleaning individual chairs, which I do have to do after practically every meal. For now (sigh) I will just have to add it my list of things I want when we custom build our own home.

Micah's First Primary Talk

Here's the long side of the story. I have my new calling, Sunbeam teacher. I have been doing it for a whopping three weeks. Apparently in this ward the teachers give the opening exercises assignments. WHAT?? I have been in primary for many years and this is a new approach to me. Well I look at my binder on FRIDAY and see that Sunbeams are supposed to have the assignments for the week. OOPS! So naturally I give my daughter a talk and call a few moms in primary to give out the other assignments. WHEW!! That was a close one, I save myself from complete embarrassment.
On Saturday I write Micah's talk and we practice one time. I felt bad I mean I would have liked to practice all week so that she would have felt more comfortable. Well yesterday she gave her talk. She was amazing. The mic was broken and so she had to talk really loud. She shouted a lot but it is better than the ones who talked so softly no one heard them. She also had a lot of it memorized already and didn't need to much help. Thanks Micah for making me look like a pro and making it look like we had practiced all week. I was so very proud of my little girl. It was a very good SUNDAY!

Musings in Missouri

There has been a lot going on in Missouri without me. I really wish I could have been there to participate in a few.

A night out at the ball game with the family. It looks like a sea of orange, Micah would have loved it because she is quick to remind people, "ornage is my favorite color!"

Another bridal shower for Corrine. I really wanted to be there with all my family. The picture is of Corrine, Kristofer, and my grandma Rose.

My dad is in the bishopbric of a singles ward. They just seem to have too much fun. Here are my parents, two of my little sisters, and their main men. Yea, we are mostly all tall.

The biggest news would have to be the ENGAGEMENT of my baby sister Danielle. They plan on getting married next month. Their wedding will not even be a whole month after Corrine's wedding. LISTEN.........................................hear that sound?..................................Yep, it is the sound of my parents bank breaking!! I have been told to be prepare myself for the same since my girls are so close in age. CLick here to see the new chunk of rock she will be sporting. Congratulations! We love Josh and are happy he will be a part of our family.

Just Splashin' Around

Sloane loves her Dora swimsuit and the water slide.
Micah really enjoys the lazy river.

Emerson enjoys the first few minutes and then is done.

I love seeing my girls smile.

Good Pets are Hard to Forget

Today my Mom put Caleb to sleep, his little body finally gave out after 16 years of life. I got Caleb for my twelveth birthday! When I went away to school he attached himself to a new owner, my mom. He has been sleeping at the foot of her bed every night since. I don't know why I am so sad over the loss of an old pet. He was actually pretty mean in his old age, but we all loved him none the less.

Running in Circles

I decided to get back into a resemblance of a shape I once possessed. I joined a gym. The first few times I worked out I was sore, sore, sore! I figured there was a better way to get more from my workout. I signed up for a program that would give me access to a trainer and some guidelines on getting back into better fitness.

Why, oh why did I sign up for so such torture? I am required to be there at least four days a week. I was like I will be there five! Yea right, something always seems to come between me and my work out. I go a few times a week but never make it the full amount. The first couple of days I was sore and then my kids got sick. (EXCUSES, EXCUSES!) Well I am into week three and will finally meet my goal. I am fearing meeting up with the trainer again, she will surely remind me of my broken commitment to her and to myself. It only gets harder from here on out. Not only will I be required to do one hour cardio but next she will be adding daily weight training one top of it all.

I am vowing to do better. I mean the only person who can shave the extra lumps on this body is me. I used to be a pretty healthy person where did things go so wrong. I am hoping to get in the workout habit and then to the healthier eating. I used to only eat healthy but gradually found all the goodies I had been missing out on. I still might need to enjoy my special treats but unfortunately only in moderation. I wish I could do the same with exercising.

Who couldn't love this face. In only a few short weeks he will offically be a new member of our family. I can't wait til the wedding! Kristofer and Corrine I hope you all are having fun in Missouri but I can't wait til you come back here where you belong. We miss talking to you! I guess I am having Corri withdrawals today, can you tell?

update: Kristofer has let it be known that he does not like this picture. My theory is if you have got great teeth like his, you should smile big all the time!
