Covered Wagons

A few weeks ago the primary taught all the kiddos how to do a FHE with their family. It was all about pioneers. The kids made these fun covered wagon treats. Last night we finally had our "special FHE." We put Micah in charge. Knowing she has an excellent memory we knew she would remember exactly how to put these babies together. She did not disappoint, even helping Sloane a little. The best part had to be eating them!

Micah's masterpiece!

Sloane kept eating along the way, she couldn't resist all the yummy goodness.

Emie enjoyed watching and eating!

The Evolution of Dance

Today I am stuck at home with three kids who have twin falls of green snot. It rules out any activity that we could otherwise be enjoying. So I am browsing once again. I have seen this many, many times. It never fails to entertain. Enjoy, even if like me it is the 100th time you have seen it.

Coming Clean

My name is Ashley and I am an accessories addict. My addiction started long ago, I think it has been inherited from my mother and grandmother. I believe all three of my sisters suffer too, although some are worse than others.
One of my favorite stores in Dallas is Sam Moon. What could satisfy an accessory fiend more than trendy jewelry at a cheap price? Don't get me wrong I love my name brand accesories, but I get a high from the good deal. I really miss the physical shopping but the internet has once again fed my obsession. You to can browse for the ultimate good deal find at Sam Moon.

It was no State Fair of Texas, but fun just the same

Since there will be no State fair of Texas for our family this year, we settled for the local county fair. There were animals, face painting, shows, balloons, games, ooey gooey food, and of course rides. The girls had a really good time. It was 100 degrees outside so it felt like it could have been Texas in October. From what I have been hearing it wasn't too much like Dallas has been this summer, there wasn't a drop of rain in sight!
Sloane loved getting her face painted.
Micah wouldn't go until she saw Sloane was having so much fun.
Now Emie is old enough to be included, and if we forget she reminds us.
We had to ride the "Strawberry Shortcake ride."
They smiled the entire time.

Up, up, up they go!
Trying to get Emie to wave because it is soooo cute.
It's scary how much Sloane enjoyed shooting a gun.
Balloon butterflies, whatever shape Micah picks, Sloane always gets the exact same.

I Felt Like Shoppin' (Browsin' Really)

My favorite shoe source of all time is Nordstroms. (My little sister will probably disagree and say Aldo is better, but it's my blog) I can spend all my time hanging out in the shoe department and it has definitely been a favorite pastime of mine since it came to Dallas. I really want red boots, they caught my eye and since I have brown and blacks ones galore I thought a little color might funk up my wardrobe.
My new fav color at the moment is red, I am completely drawn to it. I saw this shirt at Target, I really liked but passed it up for a black shirt I saw (more slimming) it kinda made me want sing "Follow the yellow brick road." Now after Internet browsing, I decided it is only $15 I may to back for another looksie.
I am so happy Banana Republic has talls, cause these jeans are cute and I am tired of limited shopping for taller women. Now if I could only order these legs to with them....
Continuing with my red obsession, I found these at the Buckle and I have to say I love the deep red for fall....now all I need is a jacket and matching purse and fall here I come!

I'm Finally Finished

Well, I finally finished. I let Jeremy read first, we have shared books before and it becomes to competitive. I am sad to see it end, it was good I suppose. I remember when my favorite t.v. show "Seinfeld" ended, I was a little disappointed in the finale. I don't know if it was because the work was lacking or just because it was over! Oh well, I will just have to look forward to the movies and what seems to be an awesome theme park.

Emerson's Party

We celebrated Emerson's birthday a few days late, but she didn't seem to mind too much. It was the first birthday for one of our kids where we did not spend it with other family members. It was kinda nice to share it with just the girls who are now little older and really enjoyed all the festivities involved with a birthday.
So I set my one year old on the coffee table, better than my last child who I put on the kitchen table.
Opening presents wasn't Emie's idea of fun but the others girls were more than happy to help out.
She may have showed no interest in wrapped presents, but opened presents were a different story.
I am glad I picked white cupcakes with light colored frosting!

Everyone Loves Pictures

I love this picture of all the cousins together. It is really good considering there are 5 kids in the picture, ages 7, 3, 3, 2, 9 months. We took these pictures at Easter time, but I just received mine in the mail. I have seen my family a lot since the pictures came back from the studio, but when we are together we are so excited to see each other we forget to do business.

I love this one my three little girls. It was the end of the shoot and they were so done with pictures, but we still were able to get a decent one!

This the most recent. It was one of those promotional pictures. They suck you in with free sitting and a free 10x13. After you take the picture and see the package deals it is like $100 for the next four sheets, but I couldn't resist. With a little help from mom I purchased a few, they aren't little for long so it was worth it. (Jeremy will surely disagree!)

Sorry Everyone

I guess my Momma Bear bear instinct kicked in.

I had a little Panic Attack but I am all better now!

Thanks for indulging my most demanding of requests. (If I don't protect these kiddos, who else will!)

Her Royal Highness

I don't know whether to be embarrassed or not........but the ladies at my gym nursery have nicknamed Emerson "Princess Ariel." It is because of the red tint to her hair and her demanding demeanor! Apparently she will only go to certain people (who knows how she chooses) and complains (screams her head off) if she is put down. I feel bad but at the same time I also need a break and really need exercise! She has become very popular pretty fast. There is about ten or so different ladies who work there and they all know us as "Princess Ariel's family" and my other girls as "Princess Ariel's sisters." Sure enough when I was on the track today I could look down and see the nursery, and every time I passed by she was being held by her favorite sitter! I don't know how to respond to this......my oldest daughter does. When being referred to as her highness' kin she replied,"MY name is MICAH!"

Snake River Stampede

We went to the Snake River Stampede. You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't take the Texas out of the girl! The kids were tired and so we didn't last the whole night, missed the bull riding, but it was still a fun night!
It was Emie's first expirience with cottan candy, let's just say she could not get enough!

Flowers Make Me Happy

So like any wonderful wifey would, I harass my hubby for not doing the little cute things he used to do for me when we were first together. I do feel bad I mean the man works hard!!
As tired as he is, I think he was pickin' up what I was throwin' down. He brought me home these! Yellow roses with an orange rim are my favorite. They smell so wonderful. Thanks Babe I love you too!

Way Back Wednesday

This is a picture of a few of my Riviera Roomies. Oh the good old Riv, so many memories. The funny story about this picture is the tree. My Roommate Erica inherited it from her grandpa. It used to be a full size tree, he thought he needed a smaller one, so he took a chain saw to it. The skinny tree in the picture is his result. Although Provo probably wasn't my favorite place I ever lived, I have a lot of really great memories, and made a lot of friends. Love live #133 disco!

Okay, I found this picture and had to throw it on. (Sorry Amy and Britt if this brings back bad memories.) This is a picture of Amy being sewn into her wedding dress after Brittany broke the zipper! I don't know if you can laugh about it now Amy, but I do! (Okay I laughed a little on the inside on that day too, but it was a bit awkward for everyone one involved.) Glad we can all still be friends.

A Song Can Take You Back!

I am "outing" myself. I am a huge "closet" Erasure fan. I love to clean to their music, it is so up beat.

Modesty At It's Best?

I was looking at some "modesty websites" for some new undershirts. This was the kind of dresses they had posted on their webpage. These dresses are what scare the Young Women when they are transferring into Relief Society .

Why can't they post something like this dress. It is modest and covers well. It is also has class and style.

I was looking for under t's but I prefer tanks when the shirt allows, especially in the summer. A secret that my little sister taught me is to go the Buckle .(http://www.thebuckle.com/) They have the best tanks (for under shirt wearing to lift your neckline) that are made with lycra so they hold you in real well (stomach and for those blessed with extra chest) and they start at $10. I see kiosks like "Shades" everywhere here in Boise and they do not beat the price or quality. Thanks Danielle for your wealth of fashion knowledge.

A Watchful Eye

My husband says one of his big pet peeves is finding misspelled words while reading this blog. (He doesn't comment on this issue because he KNOWS that would be my big pet peeve.) I started to use spell check. I don't know why I never bothered before. If only they could create a punctuation check. I use commas freely, in the wrong places, and abundantly. I make run on sentences like crazy, but it is my blog and I don't think most people really care. Do you?

P.S. I love you Hun!

Beating The Heat

It has been so hot lately! We decided to take the girls somewhere air conditioned. We went to a pizza place called Pojo's. It is like Incredible Pizza, but unfortunately not as CLEAN! We decided to finally let Emie ride on rides, so for the first time she did!

This is her face every time she tries something new.

She loved the little quarter rides, except she would not sit down. She wore a smile the entire time.

She left a very happy girl. Only now I am afraid every time I let the girls ride the quarter rides at the store she will throw a huge fit to get a turn too!
