Micah turns 5

Micah celebrated her special day twice. Once with each set of Grandparents. I love how they make everything so special for my girls.
Micah and Jeremy celebrated their birthdays together over Thanksgiving.

Like the cake!?! The things he will do for our little girls. Just for Jeremy it was a dark chocolate ice cream cake. The best of both worlds.

Trick candles, to test Jeremy and frustrate Micah.

My Mom and Dad came in town for a visit. As always it went by way too fast. I am always excited for their visits and plan everything out and am like a kid waiting for Christmas. It comes, we have the best time, and it is soon over and I am sad for a while. I really, really miss them.

They did get to be here for Micah's birthday and the picture above is them helping her decorate her birthday ornament cupcakes.

Micah chose Red Robin for her birthday dinner. As long as the big bird is not out front saying hi to people is it a go. It must have been too cold because he was no where in sight. It is funny to watch my kids survey the area before approaching the door. They DO NOT LIKE HIM!!

Sloane usually gulps down her chocolate milk before the appetizers even arrive.
Ummm... Mimi aren't those coloring pages for the kids?? My kids usually force us to help them color.

I thought Micah might be really shy about having to stand up in front of the entire restaurant. She loved it!!! Ever since school started she has really come out of her shell. She is a talker!!

For her birthday, Micah wanted a big girls room. No more Disney princesses, but still needed a princess flair. She chose black, hot pink, and pale pink as her new color scheme. I went shopping with her and found some really cute decor. Then for her birthday, she opened up presents from my sisters who live far away and everything they bought matched perfectly. I did not even tell anyone that we were changing her room up!! Sisters just have that special connection you know! It is awesome.

Micah,

I am so proud of you! You are a precious daughter. I love all the help and patience you have given. Especially for never getting to be a baby for very long. Emie is two and a half. At that age you were big sister twice. You have developed a little bit of five year old attitude, but it was expected. I am proud of how you have come out of your shell and are friends with everyone you meet. I am grateful for you! You are a true princess. I know our Heavenly Father is pleased with you and so am I.

Love, MOM

A Few Things Here and There

We visited Jeremy's parents for Thanksgiving. The weather was awesome, and the girls really enjoyed being outside. Their favorite thing to do is jump on the trampoline.

Thanksgiving dinner was yummy!

One of the downtown squares had a huge display of lights and themed picture window boxes (??). I remember seeing things like this when I was a kid. Some of them seemed to be that old. The girls LOVED it!

Emie slept through most of it, when she woke up a smile never left her face.

Our Christmas projects were minimal this year. I have not had a ton of energy, and it seemed we had more going on than usual. One day we took a trip to Michael's and I let the girls pick out some ornaments to paint.
They mostly ended up black since mixing the paint was way more fun.

Micah did a pretty good job using one color at a time.

Emie loved the glitter glue pens best. I am a mean Mom, meaning I did not want to hang their creations on my our big tree. So I told them to hang their ornaments on our outside tree for EVERYONE to see. They were more than happy with that idea!

My project took a bit longer. I have to plug Martha Stewart glitter, best glitter evah!

We went downtown to enjoy a night time Christmas parade it was COLD. It involved lots of candy, so the kids were on board.

It's Christmas Time

We have been busy. We celebrated Micah's birthday, watched Sloane's Christmas performance, had Grandparents come visit, talked in church. Just a bunch of things to prepare for. This week we have something every night. Micah will be in a Christmas performance, RS Enrichment, and three Christmas parties. I hope I make it through this week with out pulling my hair out. Blogger of course has been no help. I finally got some pictures uploaded and it only took all of three hours. UGH!
I have had my house decorated for Christmas since before Thanksgiving, but blogger has not let me post pictures for a while. It was real simple decorating this year, we have been really busy.

No fireplace! So I put our stocking on the stair railing.

The girls were real excited to help decorate our tree. I went against my better decorating instinct and let them help. I have said it before, I have control issues, but I am slowly getting better.
The tree looked great, but of course it has been redecorated since the first night. Between excited kids and a new kitten, I find ornaments everywhere.

Micah did a great job. You only have to tell her something once and she remembers it forever. Start with your largest ornaments and work your way down to the smallest. That is how I do it anyway.
This picture is for my Mom, Dad and little Sisters who went to the Caribbean one year for Christmas without me! Micah had just turned one and I was nine months pregnant. There was no way I could go. They were kind enough to bring me back this shell ornament. I put it front and center. Next time I will NOT be left behind!!

This is our family theme for next year. We have a lot in the works, it should be a pretty exciting year for us. I don't want to share too much, maybe later.
NO it is not a pregnancy!

The finished product!
Pictures never do Christmas trees justice. Just when I think there is no more room for one more ornament, then I take a picture and it looks bare.

I bought this Nativity the first year we were married and it is still my favorite. Amazingly enough, we haven't broken any pieces. Knock on wood.
Christmas in the Kitchen.

Finally the Family room!
I really like a glittery Christmas, but last year I saw the cutest ornaments at PB and had to buy them. The were angel pine cones, so I went with a more natural theme in the Family Room.
There is a bit more, but I am not going to fight blogger any longer.
Please excuse my glass, I am not sure why I didn't see it before I took the picture.

I am ready for a weekend off! Ready for relaxation and spending time with family.

WHATEVER

I am so mad! I have tried for a while to upload pictures to blogger and they just don't connect. Maybe it is my computer, I do not know! So frustrating!!
I was laughing because this is the only picture I can get to upload. My baby Sister 34 weeks preggo. She is so cute.
I can not wait to get my hands on her soon to be newborn little girl. I want to shower it in kisses already.

Much Ado About Nothing

There is no tricking in our version! Just a bunch of random stuff going on.

Lately I have been doing a LOT of refereeing. For once it has not been for my kids.
It seems her Highness does NOT like the new kitten. The new kitten knows this and torments her superior.

Here is Micah all ready for school pictures. She looked darling and the proofs were really good. I can't wait to see her class picture. We had a parent conference with her Pre-K teacher who was impressed with how quick she learns and how well she writes all her letters. She is brilliant just like her Daddy.

Cinderella has been busy.
As I made her wash the wall this is who she told me she felt like.

This is why she had to wash the walls. Yep she leaves her mark around here and there. I have to keep one eye on her ALWAYS!

She is quite creative and talented, no?

Emie was missing one afternoon and I spotted her curled up and QUIET. She found the DS and played her little heart out. Usually the other girls block her out of the way and she never gets to play.

Finally, a picture of Jeremy and me enjoying his birthday present from his parents. Utah JAZZ Tickets. He was happy even though it was a crappy game. Seriously couldn't they have played well for his special day.

Is that too much to ask for!?!

It was great to be without kids for a night. Thanks to GGG for taking care of the girls. This month will be busy, but I am going to love every minute of it!

(I think I can, I think I can...)
