I Wanted One Too

I went to a local thrift store on Monday. I walked in with two of my girls and then quickly walked back out. It was packed, a total mad house. So, Yesterday morning I went back and found this little plate with a cloche cover.

I bet someone loved it once. I love anything I get from Neiman Marcus. It was really dated. All it needed was some TLC and a little updating.

A little black paint and some glass cleaner did the trick.

I decided to try little spooky vignette. I was so jealous of all the beautiful ones I saw on Monday. If any of the girls started crying, I vowed to take it down. Luckily for me, all they see is the candy corns. Woo hoo the decor can stay!

You can see a bit of the Witching Hour Clock I made . I got this fabulous idea from http://cherrysjubileehome.blogspot.com . I just love her blog, it is a wealth of ideas.

Also, the lady at the thrift store told me why it was so packed. Every Monday morning the store picks a different color of tag to price at $.99. That means everything with that color of tag is a great bargain. She said some people leave the store with two carts full of stuff. I really don't need anything but who can resists a deal like that? It doesn't hurt to look, right?

Guess where I will be at 8:45 Monday morning? Standing in line with all the other crazy bargain hunting women.

A Touch of Halloween

UPDATE: http://asoftplacetoland-kimba.blogspot.com/2008/10/its-party-time.html is having a party, so I though I would link up.

All the fall Holidays are all about the smell to me. I LOVE using my Scentsy Warmer . They have a great selection of falls scents too.
I also love making homemade simmering Potpourri.
This one is cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, allspice, orange zest and orange slices. Just mix all together and put in a pan with water, bring it to a boil and simmer. Add water as needed through out the day. It smells so yummy. FYI... don't walk away from your pot til it simmers or you will have a big mess like I do in this picture. (Yay, guess who gets to clean burners tonight!) I like to change out different scents depending on my mood.

I have my main fall decor on this post Here .
Do you have a spine just laying around? My husband is a Chiropractor so we have a few. Halloween is the perfect time to pull them out on display.
My little girls are all under five and are SCARED to death of spooky decor. I have to wait a few more years before I can make anything Spooktacular. So I have bright colored decorations for now! If you look close you can see my project stolen from http://joysofhome.blogspot.com . I want to be her when I grow up.
A great kid project! I made this with my daughter.

My Sister sent me this BOO last year. She is so crafty!

I love my little trick-0-treat-ers.

I have seen these little "homemade cloches" everywhere and tried my hand at one.

My favorite part of Halloween is the costumes. Here are my oldest two a few years ago. I can not believe how big they are now. Where does the time go?!?

It seems it has been almost a month since I posted last. I have a family blog too and I have a hard time managing both. I have thought of combining them, but I really don't want a lot of traffic on my family blog. It is sad that we can't be too careful on this awesome wonder called the Internet.

Obsess Much

I'll start out by saying remember I have THREE girls. It started out with head bands and evolved into so much more.
I really wanted to make the girls some cute Halloween bows. I decided to get the house work out of the way first. While cleaning the little girls' room I realized even if I never make or buy another bow they will be just fine.

See what I mean.

Here is the second half..

Do I have a problem? Okay, I already know the answer to that.

Here are the pony tail holders that don't have clips.

I also have a hair bow infirmary. I guess instead of making more I should fix the broken ones. The infirmary has an increased flow of patients since I had Emerson. She really loves to tear them up.

What am I gonna do with all these once my girls won't wear them anymore?

Happy Fall Y'all

Updated: I decided to join a Party at Tip Junkie . Welcome all who have come from there!

I have to confess, I am kind of a nut when it comes to fall decorating. It is my favorite time of year. I enjoy it much more than Christmas decor. I love the smell of the air. I love, love, love all the colors. So my confession today is I have had my house decorated for a month already, just waiting for the season to catch up.

I can not wait for corn mazes and pumpkin patches.

Deciding on what my kids will be for Halloween is always fun.

I have a long list of fun crafting ideas for fall and Halloween. I guess I should get started on a few of those.

Even my bathroom gets a little fall'd out

This is one of my first decorations. I made it the first year I was married. It is just a foam craft pumpkin carved with our name on it. How it managed to survive all our moves, I will never know.

I can not forget my newest project. I got this idea from reading this blog HERE . She is awesome!
Squash, and gourds, and pumpkins, Oh My!
I can not tell you how excited I am that it is October! Here was just a taste of the things I have out. I am ready for a nap more. I do NOT decorate for Christmas until Dec 1st. I soak in fall decor as long as I can.
Happy October Everyone!
