Conference Weekend Wrap up.

Conference was just what my heart needed. A lot of inspiring and uplifting talks. I can't remember if it was Women's Conference or General Conference but, I loved Elder Uchtdorfs talk. He talk about women being creative and making things beautiful. I was grateful to hear that. I feel that the time I spent doing all my little projects are warranted. They give me satisfaction and beautify my home, making it a welcome and restful place to be.

Saturday, the talks were amazing. We let our kids stay upstairs and play while we enjoyed the silence and reverence of at least two sessions of conference. I should have known all that silence was too good to be true. This is what I found when I came upstairs.

Micah with the help of Uncle Josh, won this rather LARGE pink monkey. I had put it up high because it was ripped and I had intended on fixing it. Well, some how the girls managed to pull it down, and rip the hole even bigger.

They noticed all the fun foam coming out, and decided MORE FOAM=MORE FUN.

Luckily for me it had been storming all day long and there was plenty of static electricity in the air. (Lucky I was not!) This mess was huge. All over my closet, clinging to every piece of clothing Jeremy and I own. It covered the floor and clung to all the walls and furniture. It looked like snow on top of the big toy mess they made before their discovery of the monkey.

I have to laugh at Emie's "caught" look. It is funny today, it wasn't two weekends ago.

Well finally at seven o'clock that evening and four vacuum bags filled later, I managed to finish cleaning the mess. Needless to say, the girls enjoyed watching conference on Sunday with us under a very watchful eye.

Sloane's First Field Trip

Sloane's Joy School Preschool took a field trip to a local Wildlife Reserve. We went on a nature walk with view finders the kids made. Emie got to participate too! (Thank you Britney !)

My darn flash was messing up. I like this picture though, the kids look so in tune.

They got to feel all different kinds of animal skins and bones. We got to hear the different sounds birds make. The kids enjoyed playing in the sand making different animal tracks.

We all had fun. It was a nice chilly day and it felt great to wander outside and enjoy many of the beautiful things our world has to offer.

A Challenge and VOTE

I have challenged myself to post everyday this week! Starting with today. I turned in my voters registration card yesterday. We moved, so I had to turn in a new one.

I have to tell you, I finally made my decision. I will not be sharing it though. I grew up in a family where one parent was mostly Republican and one parent was mostly Democrat. My mom never discussed who she was voting for feeling it was her personal decision. She is not the one campaigning. I feel the same way. It causes quite a stir to ask for people's personal views on things. I have to say I admire people like Allyson who asked everyone who they were voting for. I read every response to THIS POST .

I am grateful to Farrah for encouraging me to do my research on the issues. I don't want to stick my foot in my mouth, like I did during the primaries. I have to say I am not excited about either candidate. I have been inspired a bit by both, and disappointed a lot by both. I do not think either candidate has the high moral values I wished they did. All in all I have made my decision. I think voting is important. I hope everyone takes it seriously and really studies all the issues at hand. It is an exciting time of year. Someone will be the new President and I hope the next four years will be prosperous for everyone.

A Fun Project

I bought an ugly orange magnet board on clearance from Hobby Lobby when I lived in Texas. A while back, eh? My daughter's favorite color used to be orange. Not any more. I like the idea of the board so I decided to modge podge some cute paper to it and dress it up a bit.

The orange beading stayed.

I used some matching ribbon I already had.

These magnets were so cute, I got them 90% off. I think I paid like $.10 a piece for them.

The finished project! I love how it turned out and so does Micah.
